BOOK STUDY STARTS 9/12 – ONE OF OPRAH’S FAVORITE BOOKS. “Discover the Power Within You” begins September 12 at two East Metro Unity Churches. Unity in the Heart Church in St. Paul and Unity East Church in Oakdale will both present a special seven week series entitled “Discover the Power Within You” beginning September 12. The Sunday morning presentations are based on the best-selling book by the same name authored by Unity minister Eric Butterworth.
In addition to the Sunday morning presentations, book study groups will be forming across St. Paul and the east Metro region. More information on these groups will be forthcoming.
Butterworth, a visionary, pioneer and innovator in the New Thought spiritual movement, dedicated his life to helping people awaken to their innate potential. Praise for Butterworth’s spiritual principles as presented in “Discover the Power Within You” has come from such cultural icons as Oprah Winfrey, who said the book had changed her perspective on life and religion. Maya Angelou has written the Foreword in the most recent edition of this book.
In his book, Butterworth shared “The Greatest Discovery of All Time; the ability to see and awaken the Divine in every human being.” He outlined ways in which every individual can release their inner power to gain better health, greater confidence and increased success.
Rev. Laurie Brandt will lead the “Discover the Power” program at Unity in the Heart Church. The church meets at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday at the Triune Masonic Lodge, located at 1898 Iglehart Avenue in St. Paul.
Rev. Allen Liles is the series leader at Unity East Church, whose services are held 10 a.m. each Sunday at the Marcus Theatre on Hadley Avenue off Highway 36 in Oakdale.
Anyone seeking additional information can check out the respective web sites of the two churches at www.unityinthheart.org and www.unityeast.org.

WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!
Unity East is making some progress in meeting our financial goals. Budget cuts have been made and our income has increased recently. However, we still very much need your help to at least reach a break-even point between our income and expenses. Please consider increasing your gifts, tithes and offerings over the next few weeks and months. This is a crucial time in the history of our church. Unity East wants to continue serving the East metro area of the Twin Cities with the Unity message. We invite you to be a part of that effort. Thank you for your gifts, tithes, offerings, and also your prayers.
